My support
The first huge support is my children. I am there for my children whenever they need me. I try to spoil them and get them whatever they want because when I was young I got the same treatment from my family. My husband is also a huge support. He is like my best friend. I can talk to him about anything and he is always there for me when I need him. He handles all the bill and he works full time while I focus on my degree. He supports me in whatever I do. Without my cell phone I do not know what I will do. I can access a lot from my cell phone and I need it at all times. Technology is something else because without my computer I would not be able to get a lot of things accomplished neither.
"My Connections to Play"
It
is utterly false and cruelly arbitrary to put all the play and learning
into childhood, all the work into middle age, and all the regrets into
old age.
Margaret Mead
Margaret Mead
Play
is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But
for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of
childhood.
Fred Rogers
Fred Rogers
When I was a child play was more of playing with dolls and toys. Children do not play with many toys today, they like to play house interpreting what they see grown ups doing. The role play throughout my life is different from when I was a child. I didn't do or see the things the children do and see now. When I was younger my parents use to play with me and interact with me but now a days majority of the parents do not interact with the children.

Relationship
My number 1 relationship is with my children. They mean the world to me and they always keeps me happy. They know when I am down and they know exactly what to say to bring me back up. They always have a positive attitude towards things which makes me have a positive attitude. My husband and I also have a special bond. He is always there for me when I need him. If it is anything I need him to do he always does it. My relationship with my family keeps me with a positive relationship towards other. Some children do not have a good relationship with their family so I am always there for them to pick up the slack.

Testing for Children
I think that testing for children should be measured. When you
test children it is a good way to see where children stand. Children are human
beings just like everybody else but some children need a little more help than
others. It is best to test a child so that they can get help before it is too
late. Children do not know when they need help so it is up to the caregiver to
notice it. I had one child in my class that were very smart but they child was
very slow of learning. When the child learned the things it stuck with him. By
it taking him so long to catch on that when he finally caught on it was too
late. We had moved on to another subject. I requested for him to be tested,
they tried many ways to see why the child was so slow about learning. It wasn’t
that the child had a problem it was that when the children were in a group with
children his mind wondered. He had ADHD. He was easily distracted. They had to
put him on some medicine that helped calmed him down to learn. When he was on
the medicine he was the smartest child in my class. You knew that difference of
the days that he took the medicine and the days that he was not given the medicine.
It all worked for the best that is why I would choose testing for children over
anything.

Consequences of Stress on Children's Development
I had a friend who had a hunger problem. The way my friend
coped with that problem is that she tried to drink as much milk as possible
because it sometimes kept her full for a while. She also made sure she ate an
orange or a grapefruit every day to help her appetite. She also ate soup
because soup and bread filled her up very fast.
Sub Saharan Africa has water stress. Water stress refers to
economic, social, or environmental problems caused by unmet water needs. Lack
of supply is often caused by contamination, drought, or a disruption in
distribution. The water that they do get is so contaminated that it is
impossible for them to drink. The only thing that will help them is to treat
the water. By researching, the water is already being treated. They are doing
much as possible. They need more water storage capacity.

SIDS
"Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is a syndrome
marked by the symptoms of sudden and unexplained death of an apparently healthy
infant aged one month to one year. The term cot death is often used in the
United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, while crib death is sometimes used
in North America. Typically the infant is found dead after having been put to
bed, and exhibits no signs of having suffered.
This topic is very meaningful to me because I have young
children. I have a baby that is 3 months and I was curious about what caused
SIDS. My baby does sleep on his stomach but I watches him the best I can. Most
SIDS is caused by children sleeping on their stomach. In the future I will try
to get my baby to sleep more on his back. That kind of scares me also because I
am afraid of him choking.
The influence of social and biologic factors on sudden
infant death was studied in a large Chinese population. Data from all birth
certificates in Taiwan from 1988 to 1992 were merged with death certificate
data for post neonatal deaths from sudden infant death syndrome and
suffocation. Age difference of parents of more than 10 years was associated
with a relative risk (RR) of 1.8 (multivariate adjusted, 95% confidence
interval (Cl) 1.3–2.3).

Personal Birthing Experience
I remember two months ago when I gave birth to my third living son. The labor were so fast that they did not have time to give me any medicine for pain. I was at home and when I got up to use the rest room around 3 one morning my water broke. I had to wait for my mom to arrive to take me to the emergency room and I was in pain all the way there. The emergency room is about 45 minutes from my house. And my mom live about 30 minutes from my house. Soon as I arrived it was time for me to push. I was at 9 centimeters. The bad part about it is that I was going in labor 5 weeks early. I chose this one because it is amazing how I delivered 5 weeks early and my baby were more healthier than my other two babies that I delivered 3 weeks early. To me birth have a big impact on child development because some children that are pre term have problems later in life.
Over 60% of preterm births occur in Africa and south Asia, but preterm birth is truly a global problem; countries with the highest numbers include Brazil, India, Nigeria and the United States of America. Of the 11 countries with preterm birth rates over 15%, all but two are in sub-Saharan Africa. In the poorest countries, on average, 12% of babies are born too soon compared with 9% in higher-income countries. Within countries, poorer families are at higher risk. I learned that Africa and South Asia births are majority pre term.

NAEYC and DEC
NAEYC…..
I-1.3—To recognize
and respect the unique qualities, abilities, and potential of each child. If we
come into a child care center with this in focus we will be able to help
children develop appropriately. Children
are unique and they all learn at different levels.
I-1.4—To appreciate the vulnerability of children and their
dependence on adults. Children are very vulnerable so we must be careful what
we do as adults as we shape the lives of children. Taking careful notice of their vulnerability
will keep us in line.
I-1.5—To create and maintain safe and healthy settings that
foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development and
that respect their dignity and their contributions. Environment is so important to children’s
learning. If the environment is
conducive to learning for children more creativity will happen the classroom
setting.
DEC…..
We shall demonstrate the highest standards of
personal integrity, truthfulness, and honesty in all our professional
activities in order to inspire the trust and confidence of the children and
families and of those with whom we work.
This is vitally important to me it all speaks to have respect for
oneself in turn it will cause families to gain trust. Once trust is gained from families it becomes
easier to help the children and family.
Everything that I listed have some way that children are being helped and love. This relates to my everyday life because this is what I do on a daily basis.

Quotes
Education is not a problem. Education is an opportunity.
Lyndon B. Johnson
"These Games are "special" in more ways than
one. They are special for the
competition and training they provide and also for what they say about the
ability of all human beings to overcome the greatest obstacles and rise like the
triumphant Phoenix."

Five people
Loretta Williams- She is my mother and she was always there
for me when I needed her. Today she is still there for me when I need her. If
there is anything that I need she is there to give it to me. If I need help she
is there to help me. When I am down she is always there to lift me up. My
mother always told me to love my brothers and sisters because they are going to
always be there for me when no one else is there.
Albert Williams- He is my father. My father is always there
to give me encouraging words. He may fuss and argue about a lot of things but
his words are always true. He always has told me birds of a father flock
together and if you hang with trash it will get in your eyes. My father has
always told me to choose my friends wisely. My father encouraging words has
taught me to keep my friends close and my enemies closer.
Mary Johnson- She is my grandmother. She stays right across
the road from me and if I need anything she is always there to give it to me.
My granny always told me that a mind is a terrible thing to waste. Today I see
now what she meant when she said that. She was the main person who disciplines
me and she always told me that when I get older I will thank her.
Glenda Butler- She is my aunt. She is always there to remind
me of forgetful things. She takes me places if I don’t have a ride and she
always pick me up when I need her to. She took me shopping when I was younger
and now whenever she go places she bring my children something back. She makes
sure my family and I am well taking care of.
Earl Stewart- He is the father of my best friend. He is like
another father figure to me. He always use to take us places and buy us things.
And today he still keep up with me and check on me to make sure everything is
okay with my family and I. He is a pastor and he married my husband and I. I
couldn’t have asked for anything else.

We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is
someone today. ~Stacia Tauscher
Children Book
A children book that I love is the very hungry caterpillar. I love this book because it have a lot of pictures that children love seeing and it teaches children numbers.
